Yoga for Daily Life : Practices to integrate into your day to day.

$35.00

Saturday November 4th

11a-1p EST

The purpose of a yoga practice is to live a well integrated life. What we do on the mat is preparation for how we handle our day to day. So how do we translate our mat based practice into practices that support us in challenging moments?

In this workshop, we will move through a mat based practice that explores asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing) through a lens of mindfulness. The beginning of the workshop will focus on bringing a compassionate awareness to our current experience. The second half of the workshop will remind you that you have choices. The many options of a yoga practice are available to empower you to alter your inner experience.

This workshop is great for caregivers, working professionals or anyone interested in developing a functional and practical yoga practice. It will be accessible to beginners and modifications for pregnant people will be included.

What’s Included:

We will begin with a body scan meditation that explores our body’s sensations, energy level, pains, and limitations. We will then pay attention to our natural breathing patterns. Noticing the natural state of our body and breath gives us information about our tendencies. Time will be offered to journal self discoveries and insights.

We will then consciously manipulate our body and our breath in a mat based practice. Following, we will discuss what we noticed in our body/breath scan and what we found supportive in our practice. Sharing is optional.

Finally, we will break down our practice into several 1-2 minute practices that can be done in challenging moments, or to support equanimity throughout our day.

This workshop will give you the tools to take your practice off the mat and into your life.
